Lynn Rich Jamaican Cuisine is an Oak Cliff treasure and hands down the best Jamaican food I’ve had in Dallas so far. The menu is small—typically a few options—but it seems to rotate as Chef Rich sees fit. I made the right call stopping by this food truck on a Sunday afternoon. This spot is low-key and tucked away in a quiet area, so I highly recommend following the chef on Instagram to stay updated on his hours and menu.
The Breakdown
Wait Time: The wait was on the longer side, which deterred some folks—but not me. The food was well worth the 45 minutes I waited. Plus, it was a one-man show when I went, and I admire the effort Chef Rich put into every plate. His work was truly intentional with a focus on great customer service.
Presentation: Even though everything was packed in to-go containers, the chef still took the time to curate a mouthwatering presentation, giving each customer a peek before closing the lid. That level of care shows immense pride in his craft. And rightfully so—this food deserves to be shown off. He could have rushed orders to speed up the line, but great things take time. His attention to detail, in both presentation and flavor, made it clear that quality comes first.
Made to Order: Each dish was plated to order—by the chef himself. Seriously, wow.
Seating: There are picnic tables outside for those who want to enjoy their food in the sun when the weather allows.
What I Ate:
Oxtail Plate w/ Gravy, Rice & Peas, Cabbage, and Fried Plantains
Wow. Just wow. Coming from someone who spent four years in Miami indulging in some of the best authentic Caribbean food, this was top-tier. The gravy had a deep, savory, finger-licking flavor—and unlike some other Jamaican spots, I didn’t even have to beg for extra gravy. The oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. I’m still thinking about it.
Rice & Peas – Moist, flavorful, and even better drenched in that rich gravy
Cabbage – Still had a nice crunch, with other veggies mixed in.
Fried Plantains – The perfect sweet and caramelized bite to balance out the plate.

Final Thoughts:
Lynn Rich Jamaican Cuisine doesn’t miss a single detail. You can taste the intention, quality, and effort in every dish and side. This meal made my entire week. I’ll be dreaming about that oxtail tonight… and tomorrow night. It’s well worth the wait, and I’ll be back next week to try the jerk chicken.
